Milestone Achievements
IVF - In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF)
The Caribbean 's first test-tube baby (from In Vitro Fertilisation) was conceived at Medical Associates Hospital in 1996, resulting in the delivery of a healthy baby boy. Initially, this progamme was a joint enterprise with Sheffield University personnel and although the link persists, it is now an independent programme staffed by local personnel. Success rates are comparable to international standards such that since that time many other babies have been born through an ongoing program of In Vitro Fertilization which has expanded to include sub-speciality services.

Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy
The Caribbean 's first Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy was performed at Medical associates in 1991 by Professor Vijay Naraynsingh. Since then the institution offers both Laparoscopic and Minilaparotamy Cholecystectomy, thus providing shortened hospitalization, less pain and decreased cost to patients.
